Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns rallied past the New Orleans Pelicans in Game 5 (97-112) to regain the lead in the series.
The All-Star guard had 22 points (8/18 shooting), 11 assists, 6 rebounds and 3 steals in the contest. Aside from Chris Paul, Mikal Bridges had 31 points for the winners, while DeAndre Ayton added 19.
Brandon Ingram (22 points) and CJ McCollum (21 points) were the top scorers for the losing squad, while Jonas Valanciunas posted a monster double-double (17 points, 14 boards).
The Suns took control from the opening tip and led by 13 at halftime (46-59). The Pelicans attempted a comeback in the second half, but never came closer than seven points (93-100) and were defeated.
Phoenix, which never trailed in the contest and led by as many as 18 (60-78), snatched a 3-2 edge over the Pelicans. The series now moves to New Orleans for a decisive Game 6 on Thursday, April 28.
