Danilo Gallinari has cleared waivers and has agreed to a two-year deal with the Boston Celtics, worth $13.3M. This is what Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports, adding that the contract is fully guaranteed and includes a player option.
Adding on his partial guarantee for 2022-2023 prior to the Spurs waiving him, Gallinari will make $17M-plus this season and now joins the championship chase with the Celtics. — Adrian Wojnarowski (@wojespn) July 10, 2022
The Italian forward agreed to a buyout with the San Antonio Spurs a few days ago and immediately signed with the 17-time NBA champions.
He is expected to come off the bench for Boston, alongside Malcolm Brogdon, who also joined the Celtics this offseason.
Danilo Gallinari, a 14-year NBA veteran, is coming off a mediocre season with the Hawks, where he averaged just 11.7 points, his lowest scoring output since his rookie year.
