Boston Celtics received encouraging news on Al Horford ahead of Gm 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals vs the Miami Heat. More specifically, Boston upgraded the veteran big to questionable.
Horford missed Game 1 after entering the Health and Safety Protocols hours before the tip-off of the ECF. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the team continued to test the veteran big man with the hope he’ll be able to get out of COVID-19 protocols. Eventually, the team announced the veteran big will be available.

Horford was a major contributor to the Celtics’ second round series win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Boston were without both Horford and Marcus Smart in Game 1 on Tuesday.
Smart is probable for Game 2 and he’s expected to be available after suffering a mid-foot sprain in the Game 7 matchup vs Milwaukee. Despite the high of Smart’s return, the Cs will once again be undermanned in the perimeter.
On Thursday morning, the Celtics announced that Derrick White will be out for “personal reasons.” White joined Boston midway through the 2021-22 season in a trade with the San Antonio Spurs.
The veteran guard is averaging 6.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.5 assists. Boston will face Miami Thursday night.
