Isaiah Thomas signed a 10-day contract with the Charlotte Hornets last week. The veteran guard is ready to face the Boston Celtics tonight after signing his contract with the Hornets.
Thomas, who had the best season of his career in Boston, was asked about the possibility of joining the Celtics someday.
The veteran guard admitted his former team had many chances to bring him back through the years.

After his answer on the matter, Celtics head coach Ime Udoka explained why Boston did not sign the veteran guard.

Udoka was the first coach to put Marcus Smart in the lineup as the starting point guard this season. Smart has been great so far in that role as the Celtics have rolled towards many huge wins the last two months.
Smart is averaging 11.9 points, 5.6 assists and 3.9 rebounds through 56 games this season. He shoots 41 percent from the field and 49 percent on 2-point shots.
Prior to the trade deadline, Boston traded Dennis Schroder to open more minutes for Payton Pritchard with hope for the former Oregon Duck to eventually grow in the backup point guard position.
As for Thomas, the veteran guard is hoping to remain with Charlotte for the rest of the season. He had short stints with Dallas, Denver and the Lakers prior to Charlotte.
Thomas holds career averages of 18.0 points, 2.4 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 28.8 minutes per game over 533 career games.
Thomas debuted with the Hornets in their Wednesday night matchup vs. the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The 33-year-old played 14 minutes off the bench and contributed 10 points, five rebounds, three assists, and one steal.
