Al Horford scored a playoff career-high 30 points and the Boston Celtics came back with a fourth-quarter rally to beat Milwaukee 116-108. The Celtics tied the Eastern Conference semifinals at 2.
The teams have alternated victories in this best-of-seven series, which continues Wednesday with Game 5 in Boston. Horford had 16 points and Tatum 12 in the fourth quarter alone to help the Celtics outscore Milwaukee 43-28.
The Celtics played the whole game without forward/center Robert Williams, who was out with soreness in his left knee. They even withstood Jaylen Brown’s foul trouble, while Jayson Tatum scored 30 points bouncing back from a poor Game 3 performance.
Horford had Boston’s first six points and Tatum the last eight during a 14-2 run that put the Celtics ahead and gave them a 106-96 advantage with 3:33 left. The Bucks could not get back into the contest the rest of the way.
Tatum also had 13 rebounds and five assists, while Horford added eight rebounds and three assists. As for the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo finished with 34 points and 18 rebounds, while Jrue Holiday poured 22 points, but shot just 5 of 22 from the field.
Horford sparked the rally after Boston trailed by 11 late in the third quarter. They outscored the reigning champions 43-28 in the fourth quarter to secure the win. The series is heading back to Boston for Game 5, which will take place Wednesday.
