Celtics head coach expects Marcus Smart to play in rest of series vs Bucks

Marcus Smart sustained injuries to his quad and shoulder during Game 1 between the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks.

Despite the injuries, Smart got back to the floor and continued to play, however the Celtics dropped Game 1 to the Bucks (101-89).


After the game, Boston head coach Ime Udoka revealed the status of the defensive specialist for the rest of the series.

“He’s getting iced down now and I’m assuming he’ll be OK. He took a few hits, but is going to play through a lot,” Udoka told media afterwards.

Marcus Smart finished the game with 10 points (3/11 shooting), 6 assists, 1 rebound, and 2 steals. The Celtics trail the series 1-0 and Game 2 will take place at TD Garden on Tuesday.
