A real derby in the semis of the Eastern Conference is starting today. The Boston Celtics are hosting the defending champions Milwaukee Bucks in a series that is expected to be breathtaking. At least, we hope so.
Boston is coming off an amazing sweep against the Brooklyn Nets, showing their real strength. Literally, they dominated them.
Now, they want to keep playing in this condition and exploit the home-court advantage, because they know they will face a tough team in the reigning champions.
Milwaukee aims nothing less than last year’s achievement. Surely they want to advance to the Conference Finals and then reach the Finals, seeking to repeat. So, it won’t be a piece of cake for the Celtics. Just as a reminder, they defeated the Bulls 4-1 in the first round.
I expect a tough series, with no less than 6 games. The series was split in the regular season, with both teams winning at home twice (2-2). We can find the option “over 5.5 games” in an odd 1.50, which is much valuable.
The Bucks have a serious problem, as there is still no timetable for Khris Middleton. He’ll miss the beginning and perhaps all of this series, with a sprained MCL.
if they endure his absence, especially at “TD Garden” of Boston, they’ll be the favorite of the series. Personally, I can’t underestimate the champions and the back-to-back MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo.
So, my prediction for this series, is Bucks in six (4-2). As for today’s game, I think the Celtics will start with a W, combined with a 2.5 points handicap. We can find the option “1 -2.5 for Celtics” in an 1.65 odd.
