Cleveland Cavaliers scoring guard Collin Sexton will be one of the most named players in rumors this offseason. Sexton will be a restricted free agent this summer and is expected to attract interest from several NBA teams.

According to cleveland.com’s Chris Fedor, Sexton will attract interest from the Wizards, Pacers, and Pistons. All three of these teams might have the cap space or the assets to perform a ‘sign-and-trade’ deal.

Sexton played in only 11 games this season for the Cavaliers after recovering from surgery to repair a torn meniscus. He has averaged 20.0 points, 3.3 assists, and 3.0 rebounds per game, playing in 218 games in four seasons with Cleveland.

According to Fedor, Sexton is looking for starting guard money, which comes at a prize tag of around $20M. The two sides were unable to finalize a deal the last offseason, when the scoring guard was available for his rookie scale extension.

The Cavaliers finished with a 44-38 record without Sexton as Darius Garland and Jarrett Allen elevated their game to All-Star level play. That was the first winning season for Cleveland since 2018 and the first without LeBron James since 1998.

Garland will also be available for contract extension this offseason entering the last year of his rookie scale deal. The All-Star guard, Allen and Mobley are expected to be the core of the Cavaliers’ future.

Sexton revealed he wants to be part of the winning culture in Cleveland and expressed his willingness to stay with the Cavaliers for the long term. After the end of the season, Sexton reiterated his willingness to stay with the franchise.

“I want to continue to be a part of this winning culture and be a part of this culture. I feel like me just being able to be at the start of it helped us get to where we are yesterday and where we are right now at the present. So, I love Cleveland. I want to be here.”
