The Chicago Bulls and the Toronto Raptors have officially advanced to the 2022 NBA playoffs after Tuesday’s games.
Despite the heavy home loss to the Milwaukee Bucks (127-106), the Bulls secured their place in the postseason for the first time in five years.
Chicago needed a win over Milwaukee or a loss of the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Orlando Magic. Following the Cavs’ defeat (115-120), the Bulls now have a guaranteed spot in the playoffs.
At the same time, the Raptors also qualified for the postseason, after the win over the Atlanta Hawks (108-118). Toronto needed both a victory over the Hawks and a Cavs’ loss to reach the playoffs.
With three games left, the Raptors (46-33) aim to keep the fifth place in the East. They are one game ahead of the Bulls (45-34), but Chicago has the tiebreaker, after winning the season series 3-1.
For their part, both the Hawks (9th, 41-38) and the Cavaliers (7th, 43-37) will compete in next week’s play-in tournament (April 12-15).
