Brook Lopez is progressing well with his recovery and is closing in on his return to the Milwaukee Bucks.
Lopez has been out of action since the season opener, because of a back injury. He underwent surgery and the Bucks medical staff has now cleared him to return to practice. Brook Lopez will participate in contact drills and five-on-five scrimmages.
The 33-year-old big man had eight points, five rebounds and three blocks in 28 mnutes vs the Nets back in October.
“It’s another good, positive step for him on his return to play,” coach Mike Budenholzer said on Friday, via NBA.com.

For his part, Pat Connaughton (right finger surgery in early February) is still ways away from his return.
Milwaukee survived a late thriller vs the Chicago Bulls (118-112) on Friday and have now won three straight. They currently are third in the East, tied with Chicago, at 39-25.
On Sunday, they host the Phoenix Suns, who lead the way in the NBA and became the first team to reach 50 wins this season.
