Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal said he had his first “real” workout in a long time after undergoing a surgery to repair a wrist injury. Beal, who might become a free agent this offseason, was present in the opening of the Banneker refurbished courts.
The report came from Ava Wallace of NBC Sports Washington. The scoring guard said his surgically repaired wrist “got about 80% of his range of motion back”. Beal is eligible to sign a max extension, which will kick in next season.
Or he can become a free agent and see what he’s worth in the free market and choose his destination. In a recent interview with Bleacher Report, Beal said that winning will be a huge factor in his decision.
He will be up for a 4-year, $242 million extension in the summer of 2023. If he decides to leave Washington, the rest of the NBA can offer him up to $179M. Beal missed most of the 2021-22 season due to an issue in his wrist.
He put up 23.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 6.6 assists before the Wizards shut him down for the season and finished the year back in the lottery. The Washington FO hopes to re-sign their franchise cornerstone and build a winning squad around him this summer.
