Bradley Beal declines player option and becomes free agent

Bradley Beal has decided to decline his player option, worth $37.3M, and become an unrestricted free agent. The superstar guard will now be eligible to sign a new lucrative deal.

This could be with the Washington Wizards on a five-year supermax contract or elsewhere for four years and on a supermax level.

Bradley Beal was limited to just 40 games last season and shot a career-low 30% from beyond the arc. He averaged 23.2 points, 4.7 rebounds and 6.6 assists.

The Wizards went 35-47 last season and missed the playoffs for the third time in four years. Beal has been playing for Washington since 2012, when he was selected by the franchise with the third overall pick.
