Ben Simmons will not make his season debut with the Brooklyn Nets in Game 4 vs the Boston Celtics on Monday. According to the official injury report, the Nets list Simmons as out for the contest with back soreness.
Nets are listing Ben Simmons as OUT for Game 4 vs. Celtics. A surprise as Simmons had been expected to play Monday as long as rehab was on course. — Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) April 24, 2022
This is a major setback for Ben Simmons, who was targeting this game for his return to action after more than 10 months.
Simmons joined the Nets via a trade from the Philadelphia 76ers on February 10. However, a back injury has prevented him from playing for Brooklyn.
Given the setback and with the Nets trailing the series 3-0, it is not likely Simmons will play for Brooklyn this season.
