Ben Simmons is progressing well with his recovery from a back surgery he had a week ago. And according to NBA Insider, Shams Charania, he could return to basketball activities in late summer.

“I’m told Ben Simmons is feeling a lot better, and the goal is for him to be playing basketball in the 2022/2023 season.

I think this will be a rehab process that will go anywhere from two to four months. And so the goal is again, as September comes around, that he’s gonna be getting back and doing more basketball stuff,” Charania said on a recent episode of the Pat McAfee Show.

Ben Simmons has been out of action since June 2021. Because of his dispute with Philadelphia 76ers’ front office, he didn’t play a single game until getting traded to the Brooklyn Nets on February 10.

Even though there was optimism he would play for the Nets, a back injury ruled him out for the remainder of the season. After undergoing surgery, though, the Nets believe he will be ready to go for the start of the 2022/23 season.
