Bayern Munich rallies past Hamburg Towers to remain atop of the standings

Bayern Munich was able to stop the ”bleeding” in the second half and ensure an 86-75 victory over the Hamburg Towers in a makeup game of easyCredit round 14.

The Bavarians overcame an 18-point (28-46) first half deficit to came on top. The EuroLeague side cut the lead down to nine (37-46) early in the third quarter, and they were two points (58-60) behind at the end of the quarter.

Bayern made another run in the fourth quarter and took a 76-65 lead with five minutes remaining in the game. Hamburg could not get back in the game as the Bavarians improved to 17-5. Hamburg Towers dropped to 11-10.

Augustine Rubbit was the leading scorer for the winning side with 16 points, while Vladimir Lucic followed him with 13 points. Zan Sisko had a game-high 14 assists, while Caleb Homesley scored a game-high 27 points for Hamburg.

MVP: Zan Sisko put on a passing clinic with 14 assists with five points and four assists. Rubit was the leading scorer with Bayern having five players in double digits.

Key of the Game: Bayern Munich dominated the second half with an offensive showdown that lead to 58 points. The Bavarians outscored their opponents 58-29 in the second half.

Bayern Munich will host the red-hot Olympiacos on Friday for Round 28 of the EuroLeague. The German giant has serious hopes of making the postseason being at 12-12.
