Bayern Munich beat Bonn 87-74 in the road for the third time in the German BBL semifinals and secured a place in the Finals, where the Bavarians will meet ALBA Berlin. Bayern started the game strong taking a 22-8 lead.
Bonn responded and took a 44-42 lead at half-time. Andrea Trinchieri’s players made an 7-0 run at the end of the third quarter and took a 69-61 lead. Bayern expanded the lead midway fourth-quarter to 79-67 and run away with the win.
Nick Weiler-Babb led all scorers for Bayern with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists. Parker Jackson-Cartwright had a game-high 25 points, 4 rebounds and 10 assists and he was the leading scorer for Bonn.
Munich outlet got the job done after two losses in a row and will be looking for the sixth domestic championship in team history in a Finals’ series against fellow EuroLeague club ALBA Berlin.
The Bavarians took a 2-0 lead in the series, but Bonn won two consecutive victories to force a Game 5. Ognjen Jaramaz was sidelined, along with long-time injury list tenants Corey Walden and Darrun Hilliard.
