Baskonia’s talented forward Sidy Cissoko will make the jump to the NBA G League affiliate G League Ignite next season, the EuroLeague club announced Wednesday. Cissoko will make the jump to the other side of the Atlantic after his first professional season.
Cissoko, 18, arrived in Vitoria-Gasteiz at the age of 13, and he remained with the team for five years. He spent last season with Juaristi ISB in LEB Oro and appeared in 31 games in the second-tier league of Spanish basketball.
He averaged 10.6 points, 2.4 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 23.6 minutes per contest. Not only that, but he made one appearance with Baskonia this past season playing for one minute in Liga Endesa.
Sidy attended the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland last April, where he shared experience with the best young players in the world. Next year, the young Frenchman will return to California to continue his training along with other promising players.
