Miami Heat will enter first round series vs the Atlanta Hawks with their starting center available. According to Tim Reynolds, Bam Adebayo rejoined the team Saturday and he will be available to play Sunday.
Adebayo’s presence should offer the Heat a major boost as they begin what they hope will be a deep playoff run. PJ Tucker, who missed the last two games of the regular season, is also trending towards being ready to play Sunday.
The Hawks defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night to earn the eighth and final playoff berth in the Eastern Conference. The Heat were the Conference leaders in the East with 53 wins in 82 games.
The Kentucky product had a great regular season campaign being an important two-way presence for Miami. He averaged 19.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.4 assists through 56 games.
He has entered health and safety protocols on April 11. Adebayo and his Heat teammates will have plenty of pressure to do well during the playoffs.
The Heat will have home court advantage until the Conference Finals. Miami had a 29-12 record in their home arena during the regular season.
