Bam Adebayo doesn’t see himself playing for another NBA team and hopes he will spend his entire career with the Miami Heat.
Speaking to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, the star big man stated he has no intention to leave Miami.
“If I could, I would [stay his entire career in Miami]. Just to have that opportunity to be around this community for my whole career. A lot of the community has seen my grown up. Going from a random 14th draft pick to being a cornerstone in this organization and to become something bigger. It’s just one of those things that’s dope when people grow with you,” Adebayo told Chiang.
Bam Adebayo has been in the center of trade rumors regarding a move to the Brooklyn Nets for Kevin Durant. However, the Heat have shown no intention to include him in a package for the two-time NBA champion.
For his part, Durant has Miami as one of his preferred destinations, but wants to play alongside Jimmy Butler, Adebayo and Kyle Lowry, which is pretty unlikely to happen.
Bam Adebayo was one of the best Miami players last season, averaging 19.1 points and 10.1 rebounds and helping the Heat reach the Eastern Conference Finals for the second time in three years.
The young star big man has four years and $134,85M left on his current contract with the Heat, which expires in the summer of 2026.
