Andre Iguodala to return to Warriors’ lineup Monday vs Grizzlies

Andre Iguodala is expected to return to the lineup of the Golden State Warriors Monday vs the Memphis Grizzlies.

The three-time NBA champion has missed significant time since mid-December, because of injuries (back) and rest. He has played only once since mid-January (February 7 vs the Thunder).

“It’s like cancer spreading out to different areas. Small things. Nerve damage here. Bulging disc there. The pieces never really quite come together.

One area will feel really good and then another area (hurts) the next day and you’re starting over with your rehab. It’s frustrating,” Andre Iguodala told Anthony Slater of The Athletic regarding his recovery.

The veteran forward has appeared in just 26 games for Golden State this season, averaging a career-low 4.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists. With Andre Iguodala in the lineup, the team is 17-9.

The Warriors are third in the West, at 48-27. They have won only once in their last six games and want to avoid a season series loss to Memphis.

On the other hand, the Grizzlies have won four straight and eight of their last nine and are close to securing the second place in the West (52-23). They have won two of their three matchups with the Warriors this season.
