Andre Iguodala will miss the first two games of the semi-finals series between the Golden State Warriors and the Memphis Grizzlies.

The veteran forward is dealing with a left cervical disc injury he suffered during the series vs the Denver Nuggets. As a result, the Warriors have ruled him out for the first two games vs the Grizzlies.

The three-time NBA champion wouldn’t receive a warm welcome by Memphis fans, following his brief stint with the franchise.

After being traded from Golden State to Memphis in 2020, Andre Iguodala received criticism from fans and players for his decision to sit out games.

More specifically, Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks called the forward’s decision disrespectful. Iguodala was eventually traded to the Heat that same season, before returning to the Warriors.

Game 1 of the series takes place later today, while Game 2 will be played on Tuesday. Memphis has the home-court advantage.
