The Warriors’ veteran forward Andre Iguodala still has not decided what to do after the end of the season. The Warriors’ veteran, who was limited by injuries during the postseason, will share his thoughts on his future after the end of the season.
“We’ll wait until we see how it ends. It can go either way with wins or losses,” the 38-year-old Iguodala told NBA.com. “I know my answer. But I don’t want to put it out in the world. I don’t want to get in trouble.”
The veteran forward and 2015 Finals MVP is listed as questionable ahead of Gm 1 of the NBA Finals. He missed the past 12 games with an injured left cervical disc. For now, Iguodala is cherishing the moment and try to help his team from the sidelines.
The Warriors signed Iguodala to a veteran’s minimum deal last summer. He has averaged only 4.0 points on 38% shooting, 3.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 19.4 minutes. He was a huge part of the Warriors’ dynastic run between 2015-2019.
With five consecutive Finals appearances during that run, Iguodala secured a place as part of the Warriors’ history. A fourth ring will sweeten the pot for the veteran forward, who will be at his sixth Finals appearance, if he decides to retire after his 18th season.
“Tryna finish the season walking on two feet, if I do that, is a successful season,” the three-time NBA champion told reporters in a question about his availability for the NBA Finals.
Finals start Thursday night in San Francisco.
