Al Horford addressed the blowout loss to the Golden State Warriors in Game 2 (88-107) and what the Boston Celtics should change in the series.
The veteran big man, who plays in his first NBA Finals, named turnovers and third-quarter performance as the main reasons for the Celtics’ defeat.
“It’s something we have to fix, that we have to address. I know Coach has talked about it. I’ll have to go back and look at the whole game but really look at the third, and we need to find ways to be better.
On our wins, we didn’t turn it over; on our losses, we turned it over excessively. It’s something that we’ll have to look at this game individually and just see how we can be better.
I know we can prevent a lot of those, and in order for us to be in a better chance of winning, we have to cut those down,” Al Horford told media, including Hedgeout.net, afterwards.
The Celtics conceded 35 points in the third quarter and scored only 14. As a result, the Warriors took a 23-point lead and cruised to the victory. In addition, they turned the ball over 18 times, with most turnovers coming in the third quarter.
After scoring 26 points in Game 1, Al Horford was limited to just 2 points in Game 2. The veteran big man now has his sights set on Games 3 and 4, which will take place in Boston this week.
