A’ja Wilson scored 24 points, and the Las Vegas Aces routed the Los Angeles Sparks 104-76 on Monday night. Jackie Young added 19 points and nine rebounds to help the Aces to their fifth straight victory.
Las Vegas hit 18 threes and tied the WNBA record. Las Vegas put up 39 points in the paint and took a 57-36 lead at halftime. Kelsey Plum had 17 points and eight assists and Gray finished with 14 points for Las Vegas (7-1).
Young and Wilson had 29 of their 43 points in the first half as the Aces shot 55 percent from the field and held Los Angeles to 35.9 percent.
As for the Sparks, they lost their fifth game in the row. Liz Cambage made her first appearance against her former team and had 10 points. She picked up two early fouls and could not help her team to avoid dropping to 2-5.
Chennedy Carter added 17 points, Jordin Canada had 11 points and nine assists, and Nneka Ogwumike scored nine points for the Los Angeles Sparks.
