Victor Wembanyama will be out for the rest of the season after going down with injury in the Pro Semifinals vs Dijon, ASVEL Villeurbanne announced. ASVEL says that the NBA prospect suffered a muscle injury, without giving further information.
Wembanyama is projected to be among the top prospects in the 2023 NBA Draft. He has shown incredible promise after a really successful season playing alongside and against professional players in Europe.
He finished with averages of 9.4 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1.8 blocks in 18.5 minutes in 16 appearances. He remained an active part of the team in the EuroLeague averaging 6.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 17:29 minutes over 13 EuroLeague matches.
Wembanyama is being billed as a generational prospect and the heavy favorite to go first overall in the 2023 NBA Draft. He will definetely attract interest from high-lottery teams the next offseason.
