Vasilije Micic says Serbia is ready for Basketball World Cup Qualifiers and FIBA EuroBasket

Vasilije Micic is confident about Serbia’s chances in the upcoming Basketball World Cup Qualifiers and FIBA EuroBasket.

The superstar guard of Anadolu Efes and back-to-back EuroLeague Final Four MVP believes his team will be ready in late August when the Second Round of the BWC Qualifiers tips off.

“It is important that we gathered such a good team, which was only spoiled by Bogdan Bogdanovic’s injury. We also had enough rest, and so did our teammates from the NBA, although that is never enough because the seasons in Europe are also quite tiring. We are fresh and ready for everything that lies ahead. Even though the European Championship is a strong competition, we must first think about the extremely important matches against Greece and Turkey,” Vasilije Micic told media earlier this week, via Basketnews.com.

Led by Nikola Jokic and Vasilije Micic, Serbia aims to return to the top after its shocking elimination from the Olympic Games last summer.

The Serbians will take on Greece (August 25) and Turkey (August 28) in the first two games of the second round of the FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers.

They will then travel to Prague for the group stage of the EuroBasket. They will face the Netherlands, Finland, Poland, Israel and the Czech Republic in Group D.
