Reporting from Belgrade

Vasilije Micic hit the game winner at the buzzer and Anadolu Efes survived a late thriller over Olympiacos to advance to the EuroLeague Championship Game (74-77).

The Serbian star guard had 15 points, on 5/16 shooting, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Shane Larkin (21 points, 6/18 shooting), Elijah Bryant (16 points, 6/8 shooting) and Bryant Dunston (12 points, 4/4 from the field) combined for 49 points for the winners.

For Olympiacos, five players scored in double figures, with Shaquielle McKissic scoring 12 and three players adding 11 each.

Olympiacos was in control in the first half and had a slight advantage over Efes (21-18, 43-42). However, the Turks turned things around and led by 11 twice (47-58, 51-62).

The “Reds”, though, came back and cut the deficit to three after 30 minutes, thanks to a 12-4 run (63-66). The reigning champions didn’t score for 7,5 minutes from the field and Olympiacos managed to tie the game (74-74).

Vasilije Micic had the final say in the game, though, and his three-pointer at the buzzer sealed the ticket to the Championship Game for the defending champions. Efes will now take on either Barcelona or Real Madrid in the Final.
