Tornike Shengelia said he is ready to make his season debut with Virtus Bologna in the EuroCup. The Italian team takes on Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana on Wednesday for EuroCup Round 15.
“I’ve been down for a while, but I’m working on being ready as soon as possible. I’ll be on the court on Wednesday,” Shengelia told reporters during his official presentation.

The Georgian forward also referred to his decision to join the Italians and his expectations from the club.
“I wanted to be part of it. I know there is the goal to win the Cup, qualify for the Euroleague and win the championship again.
We talked to each other, Daniel (Hackett) told me that this company has a great organization, has nothing to envy to CSKA, and does everything to make the players feel good. I also spoke with Scariolo, he also contributed to my choice,” Tornike Shengelia noted.
Virtus Bologna is currenty fourth in Group B, with an 8-6 record, and wants to maintain a playoff push. The addition of Tornike Shengelia and Daniel Hackett makes the club one of the favorites to win the EuroCup.
