Tornike Shengelia could be on his way to Spain and FC Barcelona, according to Corriere di Bologna. Per the report, once Shengelia becomes a free agent in the summer, he will sign a multi-year contract with the Catalans.
The Georgian power forward parted ways with CSKA Moscow on Monday and joined Virtus Bologna. His contract with the Italians is for the remainder of the 2021/22 season.

The 30-year-old forward spent the previous 10 years between the EuroLeague and the NBA. He averaged 12.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.5 points in 15 EuroLeague games with CSKA Moscow this season.
He now returns to EuroCup for the first time since 2010 and wants to lead Virtus to the Finals. By reaching the Finals, the Italian club will clinch its spot to the 2022/23 EuroLeague.
If that doesn’t happen, though, Virtus Bologna is a prime candidate to receive a wild card and compete in the league.
For its part, FC Barcelona could be in search for a big man next season and the addition of Shengelia would significantly bolster the roster.
For the time being, the “Blaugrana” are on top of the standings, at 21-5. FC Barcelona is a step away from advancing to the postseason and clinching the home-court advantage.
