Tony Parker reveals ASVEL will not travel to Russia next week

Tony Parker revealed that ASVEL Villeurbanne will not travel to Russia for the games vs UNICS Kazan and Zenit Petersburg.

The two games are set to take place on Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. But, Parker made it clear that the club will not make the trip to Russia.

“We will not go to Russia next week. I have already announced this to my players and my staff.

This goes beyond sport. We cannot accept the situation which is totally the opposite of our values. Sending our team to Russia is out of the question,” the NBA legend and owner of the club said, via Eurohoops.net.

Due to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine, EuroLeague suspended all three Round 27 games of the Russians teams.

The competition will hold an urgent meeting on Friday to discuss the next steps and actions moving forward.
