Thomas Walkup is ready for a 40-minute fight against the star duo of Anadolu Efes, Shane Larkin and Vasilije Micic.
The American guard of Olympiacos is the best on-ball defender of the “Reds” and will do his best to contain Efes’ star duo.
“Obviously, I like their skill level and how they move the ball but also they are confident. They play with a tremendous amount of confidence. On offense, they have a lot of firepower and individual talent.
We have to be ready to guard them for 40 minutes and so we will do. I am definitely ready [to play against Micic and Larkin]. I had to guard Mike James and five games against a guy like that prepares you for stuff like this.
Obviously, they are really good players but I am up for the challenge. It is just one game, but they [Olympiacos fans] bring such energy that can propel you to the win, for sure.
We know who we are playing for and they mean the world to us. We are going to go out there and play for them,” Thomas Walkup told media, including Hedgeout.net, prior to Olympiacos’ final practice.
Thomas Walkup and Olympiacos will square off vs Efes at Stark Arena on Thursday evening. The winner will advance to the EuroLeague Championship Game.
