Milwaukee Bucks veteran Serge Ibaka made himself available for the Spanish national team this summer, per Marc Mundet of the RAC1. The Bucks’ big has already spoken with both Sergio Scariolo and the Technical Director of the FEB, Carlos Jiménez.
Last time he played for Spain, it was during the 2014 FIBA World Cup. Spain will face Montenegro, Georgia, Bulgaria, Belgium, and Turkey in Group A of the upcoming EuroBasket 2022.
The EuroBasket will take place between 1-18 September. Ibaka had a limited role with the Clippers and the Bucks during the past season. The versatile big faced severa injury setbacks in the last two seasons.
During the 2021-22 season, he played in 54 NBA games averaging 6.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in 16.3 minutes per game. Ibaka could be a great addition if he’s healthy for the Spanish NT offering shooting and defense to his team.
