Scoring guard Naz Mitrou-Long joins Milan

Olimpia Milan has announced the signing of scoring guard Naz Mitrou-Long, who is coming off a breakout year in the LBA with Brescia. The Canadian guard signed a two-year deal with the LBA and EuroLeague powerhouse.

“When people think of this Olimpia organization they think of excellence. So, I’m very excited to compete for this historic club. There’s no goal too high when it comes to Olimpia Milano,” Mitrou-Long said in his opening statement.

Born in Missisauga, Ontario, Canada, the 29-years-old started his career as a promising college prospect coming off three season with Iowa State. He joined the Utah Jazz as an undrafted rookie in 2017 and remained there for three seasons.

Overall, he played 20 NBA games having also a short stint with the Indiana Pacers. He moved to Italy last summer and signed for Brescia. This was his first experience in the top European basketball level.

Over 29 Italian league games, he averaged 16.5 points, 4.7 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game, shooting 36.4 percent from three-point range. He was the LBA playoffs top-scorer averaging 24.4 points per game, while leading the league in assists (7.2).

Milan has already parted ways with shooting guards Tre Kell and Troy Daniels, while they officially signed bigman Brandon Davies and guard Stefano Tonut so far in the offseason.
