With the 2022 EuroLeague Final Four fast approaching, we focus on Olympiacos’ star forward Sasha Vezenkov.
After four years in the Reds’ roster, the 26-year-old forward has finally emerged as the leader of the team. Vezenkov has been one of the main reasons for Olympiacos’ return to the EuroLeague Final Four after 5 years.
From 11.5 points and 5.4 rebounds during the 2020-21 season, he increased his averages to 13.7 points and 5.8 boards, respectively, this season. In addition, his 17.8 performance index rating average ranked sixth in the competition.
Sasha Vezenkov played a total of 1,081 minutes for Olympiacos this season and started in all 36 games. He was named MVP of February and helped the Greek giants claim the second place in the standings.
An all-around player, with the ability to play excellent on both ends, Sasha Vezenkov was also a member of the All-EuroLeague First Team.
The young forward led the “Reds in both scoring and rebounding and also scored in double digits in 15 of the last 16 EuroLeague games, including the playoffs.
With Olympiacos taking on Anadolu Efes in the semifinal, Vezenkov enters the Final Four aiming to lead his team to the title and solidify himself as the best player in the EuroLeague.
