Reporting from Belgrade

Real Madrid survived a late thriller vs Barcelona in the second semi-final (83-86) and advanced to the EuroLeague Championship Game.

The “Whites” trailed by as many as 13 in the game (47-34), but turned things around and clinched a big victory. Real Madrid outscored the Catalans 11-26 in the third quarter and erased an 11-point deficit at halftime (45-34) to take the lead (56-60).

Since then, it was a late thriller that was decided in the final seconds. Nikola Mirotic missed the game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer and Real Madrid emerged victorious.

Guerschon Yabusele and Fabien Causeur led the way for the winners, with 18 points each, while Sergio Llull added 15 points for the winners.

Mirotic led all scorers with 26 points, while Nicolas Laprovittola and Brandon Davies added 17 and 15 points for the losing squad, respectively.

Real Madrid defeated Barcelona just for the second time this season (5-2). They will now take on Anadolu Efes in the Championship Game. The reigning champions needed a three-pointer at the buzzer from Vasilije Micic to stun the “Reds” (74-77).
