Real Madrid reportedly reaches agreement with Mario Hezonja

Real Madrid has reached an agreement with forward Mario Hezonja, the Spanish media outlet, Marca, reports.

The Croatian forward will become the first signing of the 2022 EuroLeague finalists for next season. Hezonja spent the past season with UNICS Kazan.

According to Marca, there are no details on the deal between the two sides. Pablo Laso’s team is preparing for the Liga Endesa League quarter-final series against BAXI Manresa.

Hezonja started his career with Real’s arch-rivals FC Barcelona. He was part of the club from 2012 to 2015. He was the no.5 overall pick in the 2015 Draft, selected by the Magic.

He played for Orlando, Portland and New York before returning to Europe for Greek giants Panathinaikos last season. He left Panathinaikos last summer, joining UNICS Kazan.

The 27-year-old Croatian averaged 14.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 25 EuroLeague games with the club.

Last March, the Russian clubs were officially excluded from the EuroLeague season due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Real Madrid has reportedly agreed with veteran guard Sergio Rodriguez, who is expected to leave Milan at the end of the season.
