Olympiacos have parted ways with big man Quincy Acy, the Greek giants announced Thursday. Acy appeared in limited time during his lone season in Piraeus, but was a great presence in the team’s locker room as a veteran.
Acy played six years in the NBA, starting his professional career with the Toronto Raptors in 2012, who drafted him with the 37th overall pick. He has also played for the Sacramento Kings, the New York Knicks, the Dallas Mavericks, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Phoenix Suns.
Acy averaged 4.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks per game, but only played in four games in the EuroLeague with the Reds. It was an expected move from the Greek giants, who made the EuroLeague Final-4 for the first time in five years last season.
Olympiacos has already bolstered its front-line with Joel Bolomboy, while they also added former UNICS Kazan scoring guard Isaiah Canaan and forward Alec Peters. Acy was the fifth departure for Olympiacos this offseason.
