Partizan announces the addition of Ioannis Papapetrou

Ioannis Papapetrou became the fourth addition of the offseason for Partizan Belgrade, as the Serbian club announced. Papapetrou is coming off four full seasons with Panathinaikos, with whom he parted ways a few days ago.

Before Panathinaikos, the experienced forward played in Olympiacos for five seasons. Now heading to his tenth campaign in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, the experienced small forward made his way to 219 games split between the Greek arc-rivals.

During the 2021-22 season, he registered 12.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 0.4 steals, and 0.1 blocks per contest over 23 appearances. Aside from club level, Papapetrou also is a regular member of the Greek NT.

He was featured in the 2016 Olympic Games Qualifying Tournament, 2017 EuroBasket, and 2019 World Cup, and is likely to be part of the squad in the upcoming 2022 EuroBasket. Partizan is returning to the EuroLeague after several years.

As a result, the team has already made some big signings ahead of the 2022-23 campaign with the likes of Danilo Andjusic, Dante Exum, and James Nunnally joining the Zeljiko Obradovic squad.
