Nemanja Nedovic was the key in Panathinaikos 79-73 victory over Crvena Zvezda for EuroLeague Round 27.
Center Vasilis Kavvadas achieved a new career-high with 17 points, including a key two-point jumper with 32 seconds remaining that gave the Greek club a four-point lead (75-71).
The “Greens” were able to hold on the win and improve their record to 7-17. Crvena Zvezda dropped to 9-15 and got further away from a playoff spot.
Despite several absences, including Okaro White, Georgios Papagiannis, Ioannis Papapetrou and Stefan Jovic, Pana was able to overcome a 9-point deficit twice to defeat the visiting team.
MVP: Nemanja Nedovic led all scorers with 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the field. he also had five assists and one rebound.
Key to victory: Panathinaikos shot from the field on 66 percent clip, while keeping Zvezda to 48 percent from the field.
Panathinaikos is set to face Olimpia Milano at home next Friday for Round 28 of the EuroLeague. Crvena Zvezda will hope to bounce back vs Baskonia in front of their fans in Serbia.
