Nikola Jokic will be available to play in the EuroBasket 2022 with the Serbia NT, the Basketball Federation of Serbia announced Wednesday. Jokic, who finished the season as the NBA back-to-back MVP, could join the team in August ahead of the EuroBasket.
Jokic, 27, last played for the Serbia national team in the 2019 FIBA World Cup. His side ended up in the fifth place in the standings as he averaged 11.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per contest.
NBA players are expected to skip 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers that will take place late June and early July. At the end of August, a new round of qualifications for the competition in a newly formed group will follow.

Great Britain, Greece, Turkey Belgium, Latvia and Serbia will be part of the new group. Thereafter, the 2022 EuroBasket will take place between September 1 and 18. Jokic and other NBA stars could be available to participate in the August’s and September’s international action.
On the other side, Bogdan Bogdanovic, another Serbian NBA star, underwent a knee surgery recently as the Atlanta Hawks announced, and he will be ready to play again at the start of the 2022-23 NBA regular season.
This means that he will miss the EuroBasket, which will take place in September, one month away from the start of the 2022-23 NBA season.
