Nando De Colo names roster changes as main reason to depart Fenerbahce

Nando De Colo wasn’t satisfied with the direction Fenerbahce was heading at and decided to leave the EuroLeague powerhouse this offseason.

The French guard opened up about his decision to join ASVEL Villeurbanne and what went wrong during his time with Fenerbahce.

“I come out of three years there where, overall, it was complicated because we changed coaches and staff every year.

We still manage to grab the Turkish title this year. But starting from scratch is not always the best if you want to go as far as possible,” Nando De Colo told the French basketball news website BasketUSA.

The French star guard joined ASVEL Villeurbanne on a two-year deal and revealed his target for his first season with the club.

“I haven’t won the French League title, this is my main goal. ASVEL has created a very interesting project. I received offers from Monaco and Valencia, but I had no interest to join these teams.

There is a lack of experience in ASVEL, but they are ambitious and work as professionals. I hope I will help the club become a playoff contender,” Nando De Colo noted.

De Colo has been ASVEL’s greatest signing this offseason. The French have also signed Amine Noua, Parker Jackson-Cartwright, Retin Obasohan, Anthony Polite and Jonah Matthews.
