Monaco stood tall at home and survived a late thriller vs Olympiacos to force a Game 5 in the series next week (2-2).
The “Reds” had the chance to win the game and advance to the EuroLeague Final Four, but Kostas Sloukas missed the three-pointer at the buzzer (78-77).
Sloukas led four Olympiacos players in double figures with 19 points. On the other hand, Dwayne Bacon had a game-high 21 points for the winners, while three more players scored in double digits.
In a hard-fought battle at Salle Gaston Medecin, the Monegasques erased an 11-point deficit early in the third quarter (38-49). With a 32-12 run, the hosts were in control in the second half (70-61).
Yet, the visitors closed the game on an 8-16 run of their own to make it an one possession game. However, they missed the final play and Monaco emerged victorious.
Game 5 will be played on Wednesday (May 4) at Piece and Friendship Stadium. Whoever wins will qualify for the Final Four to take on reigning champions Anadolu Efes.
