Monaco still in playoff contention after emphatic home win over Olympiacos

Monaco made another dominant offensive performance and rallied past Olympiacos (92-72) to keep its playoff chances alive.

The hosts improved to 12-13 in the standings and are still holding the final playoff spot. On the other hand, the visitors dropped to 17-9, but remained third on the table. The “Reds” have already clinched their place in the postseason.

Four players scored in double figures for the winners, with Mike James leading the way with 25 points (7/10 shooting). Sasha Vezenkov and Moustapha Fall scored 18 points each for the losing squad, with Tyler Dorsey adding 15.


MVP: Mike James was unstoppable offensively and his 25 points helped Monaco clinch a crucial home win and maintain a playoff push.

Key to victory: Monaco’s performance in the second quarter. The hosts played excellent on both ends, outscored their opponents 29-9 and never looked back.

On Friday, Monaco welcomes Baskonia, which is also among the candidates for the final playoff spot. For its part, Olympiacos travels to Lyon to take on ASVEL Villeurbanne.
