Monaco dominates Anadolu Efes to come a step closer to playoffs

Monaco was unstoppable offensively for another game and crushed reigning EuroLeague champions Anadolu Efes (102-80).

The hosts led from start to finish and cruised to an easy victory. Monaco scored 24+ points in each of the fourth quarters and went on to win the game.

MVP: Mike James scored 19 points in the second half and finished the game with 27 (7/12 shooting) and a PIR of 32. Alpha Diallo added 19 points for the winners.

Vasilije Micic was the top scorer of Anadolu Efes with 25 points (on 8/14 shooting). Three more players scored in double figures for the losing squad.

Key to victory: The offensive performance of Monaco from the opening tip. They shot at 56.8% from the field (21/37) and 40% from beyond the arc (10/25) to clinch the win.

Monaco improved to 15-14 on the table, whereas the defending champions dropped to 14-14. Under the new standings, though, and with the Russian teams out of the competition, the hosts are at 11-13, with Efes having a 12-10 record. Mike James and co. also have the tie-breaker and the upper hand in the playoff battle.

Monaco will host Olympiacos on March 23 and still has three home games and only one on the road. For its part, Anadolu Efes has six games to play, four of them at Sinan Erdem Dome.
