Real Madrid has completed the transfer of Mario Hezonja, as the club announced Thursday. Hezonja will join the Los Blancos on a two-year deal after months of speculation that both sides have a deal in place.
After being released from UNICS Kazan on Tuesday, Hezonja proceeded to complete his transfer to Madrid. The Croatian forward became the third summer addition to the roster under new head coach Chus Mateo.

The Whites previously reunited with veteran floor general Sergio Rodriguez and inked Bosnian forward Dzanan Musa to a two-year contract. Appearing in five EuroLeague campaigns, Hezonja will bring forward his experience from the NBA.
He started his career in FC Barcelona and then jumped to the NBA as the fifth pick of the 2013 NBA Draft. In 335 NBA games he played, he registered 6.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.2 blocks per contest.
He then returned to Europe and join Greek powerhouse Panathinaikos. From there, he elected to move to Russia last summer and is coming off a stellar campaign as a member of UNICS averaging 18.9 points, 7.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 2.2 steals in the VTB.
He also had great performances in the EuroLeague with the Russian club, averaging 14.2 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game until the team’s participation was withdrawn in the aftermath of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
