Indiana Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon is interested in playing for the Polish NT, according to Lukasz Ceglinski of Sport.pl. (h/t to Basketnews.com)

As the report suggests, the Polish Basketball Federation has been working on bringing the Pacers’ guard to the team.

Brogdon has several roots linking him to Poland. His wife is from Poland, while he visited the country last summer.

The veteran guard has assumed the starting role in the Indiana Pacers team the last few years. He averages 18.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 5.9 assists through 31 games this season. He was instrumental in the Pacers’ 122-114 OT victory over Orlando last night.

He was the leading score of his team last season, while he was also a recipient for the Rookie of the Year award back in the 2016-17 season. Furthermore, he was a second-round pick selected by the Milwaukee Bucks, averaging 12.8 points per game in three seasons with the team.

In 2019, he was traded to the Indiana Pacers, where he remains until today. If Poland could recruit him, Brogdon might be available for the next major international tournament.

The Eurobasket 2022 is scheduled for September 1-18. The Polish team is set to face Serbia, the Czech Republic, Finland, Israel, and the Netherlands for Group D of the competition.
