Maccabi Tel-Aviv protected its home court and rallied past Armani Milano (75-58) to come a step closer to the playoffs.
EuroLeague officially announced the withdrawal of the Russian teams and modified the standings. As a result, the Israelis improved to 12-11 and are now seventh.
On the other hand, the Italians dropped to 16-8. Armani, though, has already clinched its playoff spot and is now fighting for the home-court advantage.
MVP: Jalen Reynolds and James Nunnally led the winners with 14 points apiece. Devon Hall (11 points) and Nicolo Melli (10 points, 12 rebounds) were the only players in double digits for the visitors.
Key to victory: The performance of Maccabi in the second half. The hosts took over on both ends, outscored Armani 35-21 and cruised to the win.
On Thursday, Armani travels to Istanbul to take on Anadolu Efes. For their part, the Israelis will host Real Madrid. Earlier tonight, the defending champions survived a late thriller over the “Whites” and maintained a top four push.
