Lorenzo Brown officially joins Maccabi on a two-year deal

Lorenzo Brown became the latest player to join Maccabi Tel Aviv in a very active summer for the Israeli powerhouse. Maccabi announced Wednesday that the veteran guard will join the team on a two-year deal.

Brown spent the last season with UNICS Kazan having a great season in the EuroLeague and the VTB League. Brown logged 43 appearances with UNICS averaging 13.7 points, 5.6 assists, and 3.6 rebounds in all competitions.

The former NBA journeyman played for several teams before making the jump to the European stage. He had stints with the Sixers, Raptors, Timberwolves and Suns, being named NBA G League MVP in 2018 with the Raptors affiliate.

He started his career in Europe with Crvena Zvezda and then played for Fenerbach Beko before UNICS. The point guard is expected to replace Scottie Wilbekin, who left for Fener a few days back, as the main ball-handler and creator of the team.

Maccabi has completely restructured its roster this offseason under new head coach Oded Katash signing Darrun Hilliard, Austin Hollins, Guy Pnini, Bonzie Colson, Alex Poythress and Rafi Menco so far this summer.
