Valenca Basket guard Klemen Prepelic won’t be in the Slovenia NT roster for the last window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup European Qualifiers, but he will be able to participate in the EuroBasket this September as he admited.
Prepelic, who will continue with Valencia Basket next season, revealed that he will be ready for the competition in an interview in the official site of Valencia Basket. Prepelic missed the last part of the past season due to injury.
He underwent season-ending surgery after breaking his arm in March. Until then, he was the first scorer of his team, registering 14.2 points and 15.1 points in the EuroCup and the Spanish ACB League, respectively.
Prepelic was a key member of the Slovenian team that won the 2017 EuroBasket, averaging 13.8 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.3 assists. He was the third-string guard behind Luka Doncic and Goran Dragic and poured 21 points in the championship game.
The Slovenian star revealed his recovery is going well, and he will be ready to participate in full-contact training soon. Slovenia NT hopes to be in full strength in September as the Federation awaits to see if Luka Doncic will be available.
