Klemen Prepelic will remain with Valencia for one more season, the club announced Friday. Prepelic has been ruled out with a season-ending injury however he remains a big part of Valencia’s team building for next season.
The 29-year-old shooter is a member of the Spanish club since the 2019-2020 season after leaving Real Madrid. The Slovenian guard is the top-scorer of Valencia in the last two seasons averaging 12.4 points through 106 games.
According to the club’s official statement:
Valencia Basket has executed the team option that existed in the contract of the Slovenian shooting guard Klemen Prepelic (1.91m, Maribor (Slovenia), 10/20/1992, 29 years old) to extend his bond with the Club for one more season, until the June 30th 2023. Prepelic will start his third season as a taronja next year, after being the team’s top scorer in the last two seasons, with an average of 12.6 points in the 106 games he has played since his arrival in Valencia.
In the campaign that just ended, Prepelic was the team’s top scorer in both the Endesa League (15 points) and the 7DAYS EuroCup (14.2 points) before suffering a fracture of the ulna and radius of his arm at the end of March from which he underwent surgery and from which he is recovering very satisfactorily.
